The Sakura Series was created to add to the culture of poetry and storytelling being a vessel to uplift the voices that have gone unheard for too long. Since January of 2024, we’ve been hosting workshops, open mics, and poetry slams that create space for truth-telling, connection, and joy!

Now, we’re ready to take the next step: becoming an official nonprofit!  Incorporating will allow us to:

• Apply for grants and funding to sustain and grow our programs.

• Provide more paid opportunities for poets and artists.

• Expand our workshops and community events to reach more people.

• Build long-term stability for the movement we’re creating together.
